Add bold, textured foliage to a warm planting with Cardboard Palm. Despite the common name, Zamia furfuracea is a cycad, with stiff leaflets arranged along spreading fronds.
Light
Choose a sunny to partly shaded position.
Soil & water
Provide well-drained soil and allow it to dry somewhat between waterings. Water during establishment, then adjust to rainfall. Avoid keeping the roots soggy.
Good to know
All parts are toxic if eaten, especially the seeds. Keep away from children and pets. This species is different from Florida native Coontie, Zamia integrifolia.
