Light requirements
Copperleaf thrives in full sun to partial shade. To maintain its vivid color, it needs at least a few hours of direct sunlight each day. In more shaded areas, the colors may be less intense, but the plant will still grow well.
Soil preferences, including pH and drainage
This plant prefers well-draining, slightly acidic to neutral soil (pH 6.0–7.0). A loamy or sandy soil rich in organic matter will help it grow lush and vibrant. Good drainage is essential, as Copperleaf doesn’t like soggy roots.
Water needs
Water regularly to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out before watering again. During the dry season or in pots, it may need more frequent watering. However, be careful not to overwater, as excess moisture can cause root rot.
