Everglades Tomato is a vigorous, heat-tolerant tomato grown for small, thin-skinned fruits with a sweet-tart flavor. Its sprawling, indeterminate stems need room; a cage or trellis can keep fruit off the ground.

Grow in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil. Water regularly at soil level and feed with a vegetable fertilizer according to its label. Harvest gently because the fruit skins tear easily. Plants may self-seed if fruit is left on the ground.

Botanical note: Commonly sold as Solanum pimpinellifolium, but UF/IFAS notes that the identity of Everglades Tomato may involve S. lycopersicum or a hybrid. This listing does not establish Florida-native status.
