Light requirements
This lovely shrub thrives in full sun to partial shade. For the best blooms, place it in a spot that gets bright, indirect light or some light direct sun. If you’re growing it indoors, a sunny windowsill or bright spot will keep it happy. It can tolerate some shade but blooms best with plenty of sunlight.
Soil preferences, including pH and drainage
Brunfelsia isola prefers well-draining, rich soil with a slightly acidic to neutral pH (around 6.0–7.0). A loamy or sandy mix with plenty of organic matter is ideal. Ensure good drainage, as this plant doesn’t like to sit in waterlogged soil.
Water needs
This plant enjoys regular watering but prefers the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry, but avoid letting it stay too dry for too long. It likes consistent moisture but doesn’t want its roots sitting in water, so make sure the soil drains well.
