Light requirements
This tropical beauty thrives in full sun but can also handle partial shade. For the most vibrant blooms, give it as much sunlight as possible, though it can tolerate a little shade, especially in hotter climates.
Soil preferences, including pH and drainage
Mussaenda erythrophylla prefers well-draining, slightly acidic to neutral soil (pH around 6.0–7.0). It’s not too fussy about soil types, but a mix that holds moisture without staying soggy works best. Adding compost to the soil will help it thrive!
Water needs
Water regularly to keep the soil evenly moist, especially during the growing season. Once established, it’s a little more drought-tolerant, but it still prefers consistent moisture. Let the top inch of soil dry out between waterings, and be sure to avoid letting it sit in standing water.
