Light requirements

String of Pearls thrives in bright, indirect light. It can tolerate some direct sunlight, but too much intense sunlight can scorch the leaves. Ideally, place it in a spot where it gets bright light throughout the day but is shielded from the harsh midday sun, which can be too intense for this delicate plant.

Soil preferences, including pH and drainage

Curio rowleyanus prefers well-draining, sandy or cactus mix soil. A slightly acidic to neutral pH (around 6.0–7.0) is ideal. It’s crucial to ensure excellent drainage to prevent water from sitting around the roots, as it is prone to root rot. If planting in a container, be sure the pot has drainage holes to allow excess water to escape.

Water needs
