Blue Porterweed
Binomial name
Stachytarpheta urticifolia
Common names
Blue Porterweed, Urticifolia Verbena
Light requirements
This plant loves full sun and thrives when it gets plenty of bright light. It can tolerate a bit of light shade, but you’ll see the most vibrant blooms when it’s soaking up those rays.
Soil preferences, including pH and drainage
Stachytarpheta urticifolia prefers well-draining soil that’s rich in organic matter. It does best in slightly acidic to neutral soil (pH 6.0–7.0). A loamy or sandy mix with some added compost will keep it happy and healthy. Ensure the soil drains well to prevent any water from pooling around the roots.
Water needs
This plant is fairly drought-tolerant once established, but it still appreciates regular watering during dry spells.
