Description

The Blue Pacific Juniper is a versatile, evergreen conifer that brings structure and beauty to any landscape. With its dense foliage and range of growth habits—from upright to spreading—it’s an excellent choice for ground cover, bonsai, or ornamental garden features. Its needle-like or scale-like leaves come in shades of green, blue-green, or even golden tones, depending on the variety.

Light requirements

Juniperus conferta thrives in full sun, needing at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily for healthy growth. It can tolerate partial shade, but the foliage may not be as vibrant. If planting in a garden, choose a sunny location for the best results.

Soil preferences, including pH and drainage

This plant prefers well-draining soil and adapts well to a variety of soil types, including sandy, loamy, and even rocky soils. It tolerates a slightly acidic to neutral pH (5.5–7.5). Ensure the planting area has good drainage, as it dislikes overly wet conditions.

Water needs

The Blue Pacific Juniper is quite drought-tolerant once established. Water regularly during the first growing season to help the roots develop, but reduce watering as it matures.
